NIE Recruitment 2020: The National Institute of Epidemiology (NIE) was established on July 2, 1999 by merging the Central JALMA Institute for Leprosy (CJIL Field Unit), Avadi with the Institute for Research in Medical Statistics (IRMS), Chennai has announced new Notification 2020.

Staff Nurse Walk in Interview in NIE: Candidates are invited to attend Walk-in Interview / Written Test between 09:00 AM to 10:00 AM for various project posts on contract basis at ICMR – NIE, Chennai on the dates mentioned against the post as detailed below.

National Institute of Epidemiology Recruitment 2020 Details

• Name of Posts: Project Staff Nurse
• No of Posts: 03 Posts (UR-01, EWS-01, OBC-01)
• Salary of Nurse: Rs.31,500/- per month

NIE Staff Nurse Eligibility

Qualification: Candidates should have 10+2 pass and qualified through the examination held by the Nursing Council with 3-year course is General Nursing and midwifery .
Age Limit: The maximum age limit for applying will be 30 years.

• UR – 30 years
• EWS – 30 years
• OBC – 33 years (including 3 years age relaxation)

NIE Staff Nurse Job Description

• Collect demographic details and clinical history
• Conduct weekly fever surveillance of the study participants by visiting their households
• Collect blood samples
• Carry out clinical assessment of participants with febrile episodes
• Share laboratory results with participants
• Perform any other work assigned by the Director / PI/ CoPI / Superior Officer

Instructions for NIE Recruitment 2020

• Bring the filled in application with one set of photocopy of qualification and experience and other testimonials.
• Candidate should submit all certificates in original for verification. 
• Candidates who fail to bring the Original Certificates for written test / Interview will not be considered.
• Age relaxation is admissible in respect of SC/ST/OBC candidates, Departmental Candidates (including projects) and Ex-Servicemen in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Government from time to time. 
• Age concession to the extent of service rendered in other research projects will also be admissible for experienced and skilled persons.
• Experience certificate should clearly state the nature of work during the period of employment.
• No-Objection Certificate from the current employer (for Govt./AB/PSU Servants only).
• All posts are Contractual for the duration offered. The appointment may be renewed after every specific period of time subject to satisfactory performance and project requirement.
• The incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments under NIE/ICMR or continuation of his/her services in any other project.
• TA/DA will not be paid by NIE for attending the written test/ interview.
• The Director, ICMR-NIE reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts or cancel the recruitment or re-advertise the posts.
